Throughout my entrepreneurial journey, I’ve discovered something crucial: the most rewarding adventures aren’t just about adrenaline – they’re about creating your own path. Having built multiple businesses, I’m now passionate about helping Australian professionals, especially what I call the “Corporate Captives,” break free and create exciting futures through side ventures.

Here’s what I know for certain: It’s never been more feasible to start something of your own. Technology, global reach, and new business models have torn down the traditional barriers to entry. Yet too many talented Australians remain stuck, bringing to mind Thoreau’s famous observation that “most men lead lives of quiet desperation.”
But you don’t have to be one of them. And just as importantly you don’t have to do it on your own. The most successful side ventures are built with guidance, community, and proven frameworks.
An Adventurous Path
My own story is one of embracing what’s possible through an adventurous spirit and persistence. At 22, I organised a group of friends to purchase and renovate a 1948 double-decker bus to travel around Australia—an ambitious undertaking that taught me how to unite others around a shared vision. From renovating houses during my corporate career to working in Iran during the revolution, I’ve always sought challenges and experiences over the “safe” path.
From Side Projects to Startup Success
This mindset culminated in my brother and me co-founding two tech companies. The first promoted an early spreadsheet program, requiring us to overcome stubborn change resistance through sheer grit. The second startup exploded from just 3 employees to over 100 with international operations before being acquired, setting my brother and me up for financial success.
True Wealth: Memories Over Money
But true wealth, in my view, comes from prioritising memories, relationships, and experiences over simply accumulating money. My business achievements have enabled amazing family travels, pursuing hobbies like skiing and gliding, and now giving back by helping others unlock their own possibilities.
